"After establishment of diplomatic ties, and thanks to concerted efforts on both sides, China-U.S. relations have made historic progress despite ups and downs along the way," he said.
As underscored in last week's Political Bureau meeting, China will accelerate the establishment of a "dual circulation" development pattern that takes the domestic market as the mainstay while domestic and foreign markets can boost each other.
"The erroneous words and moves by the U.S. Administration constituted interference in China's internal affairs. They undermined China's interests and seriously disrupted China-U.S. relations, putting the relationship in a most complex and grave situation since the establishment of diplomatic ties," said Yang.
The U.S. lawmakers and heads of U.S. non-governmental organizations targeted by China's sanctions have egregious records on Hong Kong affairs. They have recklessly distorted and slandered the "one country, two systems" principle and flagrantly interfered in Hong Kong affairs.
The long-term vision will ensure the coherence and strength of the policies, thus offering a stable and safe environment for domestic and foreign investors.
It has become increasingly clear that each time Washington abused the national security pretext to attack foreign industries or companies, it actually reveals the government's indulgence in protectionism, hegemonism and bullyism, which is akin to "modern piracy," as a German official has said.
